For high volume and flexible lead times, rail shipment rates can’t be beat

Transportation by rail may sound old-fashioned, but a single railcar can hold two to three times the amount of dry good product a standard dry van or flatbed truck can hold, often at a more competitive cost. Intermodal lead times can fluctuate, but for shipments which aren’t time-sensitive - such as large inventory purchases - intermodal transportation can cut costs substantially.
